An upland and mountaineous species with numerous quite small, light-violet flower heads. Each composite flower exhibits a typical two-zoned UV pattern, but the contrast between these zones is lowered due to a reduced UV reflectance of the petals. To complicate the matters further, the tip of the involute petals strongly reflects UV.
